    CREATIVE SOLOING & FREEDOM

I miss how I used to be a drummer. Actually, still am – once a drummer, always a drummer. Since I was a little kid I always found myself banging with my hands, pencils, forks, knives everywhere including walls. That sense of rhythm never dies. Back in the days I used to play for three bands at the same time weekly, barely having cash to pay the rehearsals. Did a few gigs in some not so shady bars and open-air stages. Good times. Until this day when I see or hear a good drummer I just feel that rush reminding me that “I’m alive…!”.
Oh the memories… that day that I took my hard earned first salary and went out to spend it all in my first drum kit, so young, nayve and super excited, going alone to some old guy’s house in the middle of Lisbon, without even knowing if it would all fit in the car. What an adventure… Needless to say, it did fit!
Anyway, for our first article ever on the top most innerhacked artists of the week, meet Antonio Sanchez, four time Grammy Award winner and considered by many critics and musicians alike as one of the most prominent drummers, bandleaders and composers of his generation. Born in Mexico City on November 1st, 1971, he started playing drums at the age of 5 and began performing professionally early in his teens. This is also the man behind the soundtrack in the movie Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Not to disrespect his entire musical career in any way but that was indeed a movie with a great amount of the element of surprise, which I enjoyed very much. Voted best jazz drummer by Modern Drummer 2016, Antonio Sanchez is not just fantastic and unique in his arts, but also a storyteller through his musicianship, an amazing human being and without a doubt a great teacher with very useful and philosophical insights on creativity in this way of living. A person who really understands music and can draw philosophy from it applied to daily life is to me something not short of remarkable.

“Art Is Always Possible, Life Is Art”

Sabina Nore has one of those spirits that fits well among us Innerhackers. She is peculiar in her own ways, transmitting an aura of mystery and secrecy, a non conformist with the rules and always looking to get away from what is cliche. Exactly what we like to see. Thus, it doesn’t surprise us the career path she’s chosen – Sabina Nore is a surreal painter and artist and is featured in a book by Jaume Cullell, Marcin Migdal and Mad Artist Publishing – How to Paint Ultra Realistic Caricatures – Art Courses & Video Tutorials.

Sabina Nore’s love for arts began in her aunt’s and uncle’s atelier, both master painters, where the world of arts and particularly painting, opened its doors for her at a very young age. When she was barely a teenager she discovered what would turn out to be the most fascinating sphere of that world, namely surrealism. Playful, alive, challenging and limitless – to her the very embodiment of the term “art”.

She studied fine arts, music, psychology, enjoyed a carreer as a creative director, animator, and designer, to ultimately return to painting, one of her greatest passions, possibly only matched by writing.

Sabina is primarily a surrealist painter but also enjoys the occasional stroll into pop art (or pop surrealism), cartoons, fantasy art and caricature. Her prefered medium is the digital arts but also delves into oil painting and the pencil & paper.

Her works can be found on her website, and for now let’s listen to what she has to say about her perspectives on the world she lives in. Also be sure to check on the 2nd part of the interview.

“In my dedication to the creative process, I strive to find ways of producing art that inspires harmony between the Earth and its shared inhabitants.”

Simon Haiduk’s works are heavily inspired by nature. His trans-realistic landscape scenes are often translated into motion graphics.

Growing up in British Columbia, Canada, Simon developed a strong affinity to nature with artistic foundations in visual art and music.  In 2004 he gravitated towards painting as a full time endeavour bringing his musical background into the visual realm.  Simon has explored many visual mediums, including animation, often with a strong influence in spiritual themes connected to nature. Currently his primary medium is digital painting. He continues to also produce music, and has released four full length albums since 2002. Within art galleries, festivals, conventions, and online platforms, his work is exhibited globally. He currently works out of his studio in Gibsons, BC, while continuing to explore an ever expanding palette of creative endeavours.
